Seeds of Hope Stories

Stories can shape people; they can inspire them to think and act differently.
Over the coming months, we will release some stories of our own.
We would like to introduce you to our Vanderful Volunteers, who are the Seeds of Hope ODV team.

In which year did you join Seeds of Hope & what’s your country of origin?

I was one of the founders, so I joined in February 2019 and I come from Italy.

What is your role at Seeds of Hope ODV?

I am the Vice President of the association and I am one of the Surf Craftsmanship workshop coordinators.

What do you like most about your role?

I like to be involved in all Seeds of Hope matters!

What inspired you to volunteer?

I am Francesco’s brother and in 2018 he offered me to join the project I happily accepted.

What is your greatest strength? How does it help you at Seeds of Hope?

I am a very calm guy and I can easily manage in all kinds of situations. This allows me to fit in all the projects and enjoy the time with the other members of the Team.

What are some of your best memories at Seeds of Hope?

By far the best memories are connected to the first trip in Africa when we used to travel with the Van across different countries. I also really enjoyed the surf session with the kids and all the time spent together.

How do you stay motivated on the not-so-sunny days?

Usually I am very motivated, most of the time. When I am not, I like to stay by myself and take some time for myself.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a volunteer?

Be open minded as much as you can and enjoy the time with the other volunteers.

If you could be any animal in the world, what animal would you choose to be?

I would like to be either an eagle or a gibbon.

Would you rather live in the ocean or on the moon?

In the ocean by far!

What is your best idea for a new invention?

A pizza that never makes you fat!

Are you sunrise, daylight, twilight, or nighttime? Why?

Sunrise, I like the quiet mornings when everything starts to awake.
